    1. I think that the posters are trying to accomplish to get people to join the army.

    2. I think that the man are being represented more because on the poster there are only pictures of man, and it says “Canada needs men like you.” I think that the people who are not being represented are the women because there are no pictures of women and it dose not say anything about women.

    4. I think that these posters would be found a very ,very long time ago when war started and they needed people to join the army. If the posters were there at the time I think you would see them in shops, and all around
    Canada.

    5. Some facts and things that stand out to me are that they only want men in the war and how it says ” Need men Like You.” also how in the back round there is a picture of a night with an sword. I like that they put that picture in the back round because it also makes you think about the people in medieval times.

1.The add is trying to accomplish that you have to be carful about what you say when you were in the war because spys might be spying on you.

2.The people that are not being represented are the people who are not involved with the war.

3.I belive the add is targeting the soldeirs that are part of the war because its just saying be careful what you say.

4.I think that this add would probobly be in news papers or magazines to make the soldeirs be awar of this.

  4.   crystal on November 11, 2009 5:34 pm

    I chose slide 6.
1.They were trying to tell them to be careful what they say while in combat because there might be spies about.
    3. They were targeting anyone who were interested (age over 18 but under 50) to join the military and make it larger.
    4. They could probably be found in newspapers, shops and places people usually are in.
    6. What caught my attention was the saying: “BEWARE,the walls have ears.” which means be careful spies are overhearing what you are saying and you might not even know it! EEK!

  5.   ratheesh on November 11, 2009 5:59 pm

1.The ad is trying to tell people when the war was happening to not tell anything about stuff that the enemies want to hear because their might be spies.(In this case a spy may be behind a wall)
2.In this ad normal people are represented but the soldiers(air, land and sea) are not but they might say something too.
3.The ad is trying to target people like us who are not fighting in the war zones to keep our mouths shut about military stuff.
4.I think this ad would be found in newspaper that are sent out to the public during world war 2.
5.The things that stood out to me personally in this ad were the guy blowing up the train, the nazi symbol(which made me think it was a enemy)and the big ear on the wall.
6.The diagrams got my attention because of the bright colours and the big pictures.

    Poster:RCAF
1.The add is trying to accomplish for people to think what is going on right now,and how we are soooo lucky that we have these men and wimen that are fighting for us right now!!!

2.In the ad there isn’t many girls in the picture it is just one girl acctually and I think that we should have just as many wimen as men in the war.

3.The ad is trying to target to get men AND wimen to join the army to help save the country.

4.This ad may be found in about three inportant places for example the radio and in these times maybe on T.V and in newspaper for all the times war has been going on.

5.A cople of thing that stood out to me is that there are not many girls or wimen in the photo witch makes no sence to me really.

6.The body languege or speaking or anything did not really stand out to me as much but there is just one thing…. that they are all in uniform and no one is talking or anything so that kind’a stood out to me.

  12.   Melissa on November 11, 2009 6:35 pm

1)What the popsters are trying to accomplish

3)The target is the enemy becasuse they are fighting each other in the war.

4)The posters could be found all around the city that’s so when you take a walk you would notice the poster and might want to join theb war.

    I chose slide number 2

1.The ad is trying to accomplish by getting more people to join the army and fight in wars.

3.The ad is trying to target men to fight in wars.

4.I think these posters would be from a long time ago when they were in the war, they would put them in social spaces like poles, shops, windows because they needed more people to fight in the wars.

5.Facts that stood out to me were that in the background it showed a knight on a horse. I think that they put that there to make it look like medieval wars. Also the ad shows a man on a motorcycle which shows the soldiers in both pictures are very similar except for the time.

  16.   asad on November 11, 2009 7:47 pm

1.They are trying to accomplish stopping people from talking about enemies in front of spies
3.The ad is trying to target the people who might give away secrets to the enemy.
4.They would be found at shops, walls, and vehicles.
6.The text,”BEWARE”in big letters caught my attention
because it was the biggest writing in the whole poster and it would make passers by stop and read it.

  17.   Hamiza on November 11, 2009 8:18 pm

    ***slide 2*** 
    1. This ad is trying to get more people to fight for Canada’s new army; they’re doing this by letting us read the poster which says, “Canada’s new army needs men like you.”
    2. I think that only men are being represented and not women because on the poster it only shows a man riding the horse not a woman riding it. Even the language that is being used conveys the same message, “Needs men like you.” Something else that is being represented is a soldier and not people, even though the soldiers are fighting for the people of their country.
    3. The person who this ad is trying to target isn’t only one person, but it’s as many men as possible. They need men for a safer and stronger army. The military needs big strong men for their army because they want victory.
    4. These ads would have been found in newspapers, it could be given to some people by mail or even by radio. The military would put the ads at as many places as possible, because they would really like more soldiers to fight for Canada and win. You cold also probably see them on the wall in shops. Other public places such as the park or a doctor’s clinic could be a place where the ads were put.
    5. What really stands out in this ad is the way that the man is shown. In the background there is man riding a white horse, both the man and the horse have a superhero kind of look. Right in front of this picture is a soldier on a vehicle putting it up in the air just like the horse. This is trying to show that men that go to war are like the superhero on the white horse—this is one way that the ad tries to convince the men to come out because the ad is basically saying: if you don’t fight for the country you’re not a knight in shining armour or the superhero on the white horse.

    1. The ad is trying to say watch out when you talk because people can hear you. If the enemy knows your plans they will attack.

    2. The people are being targeted by reminding them to watch what they say.

    3. You would find the poster in social places during War times like in the streets, stores and in parks.

4 The language that stood out to me was Big bold red letters saying BEWARE which makes you want to read more.

  19.   Megan Hill on November 11, 2009 9:12 pm

1.The ad is trying to accomplish that you should be careful for the things you say because there are spies around and you can get in big trouble if you say something that they don’t like.

2.The people that are being represented are the spies, and the people who are not in this ad are the ones that are not in the involved in the war.

3.The ad is trying to target the soldiers that are involved in the war.

4.This ad would have been found in newspapers or on the radio.

    1. The ad is trying to get people to join the army.

3.The ad was trying to target people who were not involved with the army, with the hope that they would want to get involved.

    4. I think the ad would be found in department stores, outside food buildings, convenience stores, malls and schools.

    6. I think emotional language was used because if you were not involved you would feel guilty for not joining the army.

  21.   Sarah kay on November 11, 2009 10:37 pm

    Poster 6

#1. The ad is trying to accomplish that if you are making a plan to destroy the other team that you don’t say it outloud because you never know that someone can be watching you or listing to what you say.

#4. Maybe this ad would’ve been found in soical spaces because as an example, if you were walking down the street and you saw something on a pole it could’ve been the poster.

#5. Well, the nazi sign stood out to me because, originally indains used the nazi sign as a symbol of happiness and good. They also called it the swastika. Another thing that stood out to me was the soldier that blew up the train because, on the ad it say’s “Troop train wrecked blame careless talk” That made me think that it was the other team’s plan but someone from the other side, so the team who heard it must of did it before them.

#6. Body language got my atteition because, you could see their action and how their reactions are to tell you what their scared of and what not.

  22.   Sarah on November 12, 2009 7:32 am

These adds look quite interesting!#1 The add is trying to accomplish having people join Canada`s air craft or donate money for Canada`s air craft.#3 The ad is trying to target the enemy.#2 Men who are in Canada`s air craft are being represented and soldiers are not. There are also no girls in the ad. #4 this ad during war times would probably be found in news papers and in magazienes so that people might think about joining Canada`s air craft or donating money.

I’m going to choose the second poster (Canada’s new army needs…) to answer these questions for.

    1. The ad is trying to get people to join the army/military to fight in the war. (World War I)

    2. People that are reprisented in the ad are strong, tough men on motorcycles and a knight in the background. People that aren’t being shown are woman, children, and the young, innocent men that were forced to fight.

    3. The ad is trying to target men that want to fight in the war, and it is very persuasive (it says we need men “like you”) and is likely to target some people who have had military experiance (and even those who didn’t)

    4. This kind of ad would be found at stores, stands and group meeting places. Also, it may have been showed in a newpapaer in a time of war.

    5. One thing that stood out to me about this ad was the fact that only stong looking men are on it, and not the woman and the children that fought. Another thing is that it says “…men like you.” what if a woman walked by and saw the ad?

    6. The way the ad stresses that the army NEEDS men is really convining for peopole to join. NEEDS is a scary word. It’s like the government saying “we need you to fight in a big scary war okay? Now go.” The way the men are on their motorbikes is showing that tough people are needed, when they needed so many other people to fight.
