Bob Dylan – Try And Catch The Wind (my wedding song)

Music and Literacy:  Due Tuesday

Music is linked to how we learn how to read and write.  Music is tied to emotions such as sadness or happiness.  Music is celebrations, culture and what your friends listen too.  It is an important part of who we are as people.

Choose a mimimum of 5 songs and a maximum of 10 songs that are important to you.  They can be songs that:  are cultural, fun, important links to your family (wedding song for example) or songs that mean a lot to you.

Choose two songs and write a paragraph for each describing their importance to you.  The other remaining songs we will try and guess their importance and significance to you as a person.

Good luck. Enjoy your listening.

    THIS IS IT

    SOUND TRACK OF YOUR LIFE
I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas
The song I gotta feeling represents me as a person because it helps me have a good time whenever I listen to it. And the rhythm is good and the meaning of the song is good too. So I gotta Feeling is one of the black eyed peas best work. And it’s one of the top bands and the most played song in Canada. I like the band leader too. He is one of the most talented artists. And whenever I listen to his music it makes me calm.
Break it Down by Chris Warren
I like this song because it represents a sport I like to watch Wrestling. The people in the video are one of the most favourite wrestlers. This is one of the most famous wrestling songs and it contains the most talented wrestlers Shawn Michael’s and Triple H. The beat is good. Chris warren is a good singer.
The five songs I chose were:
    1. I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas
    2. Break it Down by Chris Warren
    3. Time to Play the Game by Triple H
    4. All to Myself by Marianas Trench
    5. Fireflies by Owl City

    3. Nothing to lose – Billy Talent
    4. Wake me up when September ends- Green Day
    5. Detroit Rock City- Kiss

I got a feeling is important to me because Ovechkin listens to music right before a hockey game to get him pumped up. So I listen to music too while I am going to my three on three hockey.

The Hockey Song is important to me because it is about my favourite sport hockey. I like the song very much and sometimes I hear it during the intermissions at the hockey games

    Songs:
    #1 O Canada
    #2 You Raise Me Up
    #3 Paper Plaines
    #4 I have Got a Feeling
    #5 I Wanna Run
Why Two Songs Are Important To Me:
#1 “O Canada” because it repersents our country and of course I love our country.
#2 “You Raise Me Up” because it was the first song that I really liked. This is because when I was younger I never really listened to the songs that were playing, I just ignored them.
