What do you take away from this video? What impact has his life and his life’s work had on us today and who we are as Kindree students and as people? Without his actions and message of peace, where would be today do you think as people? How did he open our hearts? He started the conversation of change didn’t he?
Watch the video…please comment. If theres a question I did not ask that you would like to talk about…please feel free to.

    HHHEEEEELLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!

What you take away from this video is that all the same but in different ways, and to stop racism. His life had changed our life very, very much because if he didn’t do what he did millions of us would be tortured every single day. Kindree students and lots of people in canada are very lucky because we live in a peace and non-racis country and we are very, very lucky. If he did not do that speach i would of been tortured every single day and I would be a slave so we are very lucky that he did that speach. i am very fortunate that he did that speach. He opened our hearts by giving us a reasonable but kind speach, he did not hurt anyone but he did say something very important. He did start it off with change because it says in the beggining……. ” In front of Hundreds of Thousands of supporters Change the world Forever. ” so thats how he started it off. Yes there is one question you forgot to leave out and it is HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AND HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE THE SLAVE ???.

Thats all i have to say so……………..

    GOODBYE AND PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love,
    Sofia.

I would take nothing away from this video because this video has such a nice and strong meaning. Also the power of this video is very strong. This video has a very big impact on our lives. That is why this video is great the way it is.

The imapct that Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. did on our lives was big. You can see the impact from now in life and when it was back then. (back the in videos) Each is equal. No one is treated diffrently. In schools we have the same water fountain. But back when Martin Luther King Jr. was there a certain skin colour was drinking from one fountain but the other had a diffrent water fountain. That is who Martin Luther King Jr. had a really big imapct on our lives.

Well I don’t think we would be anywhere diffrent because there were so many diffrent people how did this at that time. One of them is Gandhi. He was in India and he was fighting for peace in the world. He did the same thing as Martin Luther King Jr. That is why we wouldn’t be anywhere else then where we are now.

He opened our hearts relizing how important it is to have peace in our world. Also the wording of his speech is fantastic. You figure how he made a diffrence in our world. Imagine a place where there was no peace. That would be very bad. That is when I relized that Martin Luther King opened our hearts.

Yes, Martin Luther King Jr. did start the conversation of peace. He thought of ways to thought ofd wayus to start this. Everyone was in harm because of vilionce. That is how Martin Luther King Jr. started the converstation of peace!!

If Martin Luthor King J.r. hadn’t taken a stand then their still might be black slaves even today in 2011. Kindree might have became an all white or black school. Martin Luthor King said in the video that all men were equal and agree with him. His main message was promoting freedom in America.

I am lucky that I live in a country like Canada where I am not discrimated against. We are free and equal in the eyes of the law.

Did you know that the most considered important man and the richest woman in America, Barrack Obama and Oprah Winfrey, are both black? I learned that on CNN the other night.

That is how I feel about Martin Luthor King’s contribution to society.

to me this speech shows equality, rights as a person and the right to be free. without martins bravery i would be separated by my parents and i might have to work 24 7. i think it was great that martin did that because i would have never been born! my parents are difrent so i am lucky.

I thinck Martin luthar King jr. is a very good man and his life work made us thinck a little more positive to this black and white promblem, but if he wasn’t there then what would have happened to brown people, I mean I just don’t know if browns were allowed in America if that promblem was there, like if he wasn’t there then I would not be sitting here typing….I thinck, but martain luthar king has canged America, and all my Question is were brown people allowed to talk to both black and white or was it brown people weren’t allowed in the contrey

That speech changed the world!!!!! The video is an important part of history and very cool. As a Kindree student if Martin Luther King J.R. never made that speech than we wouldn’t be all about change. If it weren’t for him there wouldn’t be so much multi-cultism in our community. He said not to judge people by the way they look but by their character.

Martin Luther King Jr. spoke about equality where all men are equal and free. it doesn’t matter if your skin is white or black. his dream was to see everyone being treated the same and working together as if the color of the skin wasn’t important. Martin Luther King Jr. made people think in a different way. at Kindree we have people from all sorts of countries around the world. and, everyone is different. and, everyone is equal. we don’t judge by the color of our skin. In fact, my family is a mixture of white and indian. My Mom and brother are dark. But, my Dad and me are white. We’re all mixed in color and we are all equal.

I am lucky that I am living in a time when color of the skin doesn’t matter. not like in the past when people fought and killed over the color of skin.

Well what the impact that he had on us is a big one because he changed our thinking he made change. If he hadn’t used his voice white people and black people would not be able to sit together white people and black people would not able to be together!!! If life were like it use to be it would be very very different mr.woods would not be able to teach people like manum just beause she has a different skin colour! Which is completey unfair because it doesn’t matter whats on the outside it matters whats on the inside!!!!!

I think the video was very interesting. Martin Luther King Jr. had the courage to speak up. He said that all men should be treated equal. It doesn’t matter about the skin colour, it’s about the character. It all started with his dream of peace.

Caring, Acceptance, Respect, Excellence, and Safety are kind of like Kindree’s rules. Martin Luther King Jr. talked about acceptance and respect in his speech. I think Kindree thought about Martin Luther King Jr’s speech and decided to have acceptance in their school. Students at Kindree should be accepting and respectful of everyone.

Without his actions and message of peace, white people and black people would still be in different schools. The white people would not accept the black people. If it wasn’t for Martin Luther King Jr. our lives would be very different because black people and white people will still dislike each other. He opened our hearts by convincing black and white people to be friends and have utmost equality and respect for each other.

He did start the conversation of change.

well i think his life’s work has had a big impact on us because if he hadn’t been thier we wouldn’t have our class and the world would be messed up .he changed something before it began to stir . many people would be unhappy and our class wouldn’t be their.the video talked about eqality and how you have to accept people’s diffrence’s.

I think this speech is inspiring because when you hear this speech it makes me wonder what it would feel like to live in the days when you had separate schools for white people and one for black people. It doesn’t matter what colour your skin is, everyone should be treated equally. I feel lucky that I live in 2011 because there are different people you get to meet at school. That means I get to learn about different cultures, and there are really cool things to learn. Even I have 2 cultures, Korean and Canadian. I get to celebrate lots of different holidays and food. When I meet a person, I don’t see their color, I see their personality. 🙂

I think that Martin Luther King jr.’s speach means that white people and black people can do the same things like drink out of the same fountain in public places. That also no matter what race you are, no matter what the color of you skin in everyone will be treated equal. So that is what Martin Luthr King jr.’s speach means to me.

One thing that I can take away from this video is that everyone has a DREAM. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream was to let everyone be together, where no one in the world is taken away from each other, was fighting for the end of RACISM!

This made a huge impact on everybody because we are all together. Everyone drinks from the same water foutain, not one for black and one for white;Everyone holds hands together no matter what skin tone you have,;everybody has the right to live,to dream freedom of speech.

If Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t make that speech, everyone would still enter through different doors to go to school.White people would see black people as different,…Did you know that in Brasil black people were slaves? They were treated so bad and lived in really bad conditions.

Through his words, his actions, he tried/fought to open our eyes, to make us see that there’s no difference between white and black, everyone is the SAME. We all have feelings, we all have a heart…there’s no one better than the other.

At Kindree we can see this, we work together and as we all know kindree C.A.R.E.S., we respect every single person/culture, Kindree doesn’t allow bullying, we ACCEPT everyone…wasn’t that message that Martin Luther King Jr. was telling us? In a certain way we can say that here at Kindree we are following his steps.

Martin Luther King Jr. will always be remembered, and me, personally, respect, honour and think he is a great man that did such an amazing job-fighting for such a good cause!

Martin Luther King J.R was a great man. He did a lot to change history and the way some people think. He said a very famous speech on august, 28, 1963 called “I have a dream speech.”

The message from this speech is that you should never judge a person by the way they look or how they look. You should judge them by, how they are as a person. It relates to the saying “don`t judge a book by its cover.” His life`s work was trying to stop the separation between people of different skin colours. If Martin Luther King J.R hadn`t stepped on that platform on august, 28, 1963, half on our friends in Kindree wouldn`t even be here, they would be at other schools. He opened people`s hearts by making them believe that even though we are different on the outside, we are all the same on the inside. We all have hopes and dreams on doing something in life.

Without Martin Luther King J.R the world would be a different place. People would think differently. People would have to drink from different water fountains, sit in different places on the bus and even go to different schools or classes.

hi it is vanessa before i start i woloud just like to say please visit my blog at vanessarose.edublogs.org

i don’t take anything away from this video Martin Luther King jr. did such a GREAT job with his speech he changed the world. it was so inspiring to me and eveyone else who herd it.

the imact that it has on us as students that go to kindree and has people is without that speach we probally be playing with the friends we are playing with now.

without him giving that speach and all the peace we have we would not have alot if friends because some of the people we play with have darker skin then we do. it is like the poster mrwoods has in the class the hand of friedship has no colour and the poster is in black and white.

he opend our hearts by making us think that it dosen’t matter what colour we are we can do what we wan’t with getting critisized hurt or killed.

yes he did start the conversation of change that is why we are here now that is things CHANGED!

well that is all I got till next time this is vanessa and remember please check out my blog at vanessarose.edublogs.org

I Think Martin Luther King Jr’s Speech Made the world change. With out Martin’s speech the world will be so diffrent.Think if you where a resedent out there darks can’t use water fountens they where only for lites that’s not fair at all.Think of Martin Luther King Jr he made all of this right by just one speech.Think if you where a dark and they didn’t let you get a drink you would be mad right. So now the world is free darks can get drinks at water fountens.

If I was a slave in all that mess I would do what Martin did make a speech and tell the government allow dark at public bathrooms and water fountens. Martin’s Speech made the world Change.

Martin Luther King Jr’s speech made the whole world be different.Martin’s speech was about how they shouldn’t separate the black and whites, instead thay should be together. Now if Martin did not say that speech than we would never be together in the same classroom and we wouldn’t be with all our friends. But the most sad part is we coldn’t be with our lovely teachers. What bothers me alot is that they treated the whites better than the blacks. An example that was different in that time than this time is that the white used to have different washrooms and water foutain. They weren’t even allowed to sit beside each other in the bus.
FACT:did you know that Martin Luther King Jr. said his speech on august,28, 1963.
FACT:did you know that the name of his speech was called “I have a dream.”
I am so happy to that Martin did something so wonderful,I think Canada should do a big event on every august,28th!!:):):):)
