a)some of the symbols are the fancy dresses they where, the white horses, the carriges, the footmen and the driver.b)I know that one of the steryotypies are that all princesses have to have a fancy dress or they all have to have a fancy carrige. but did ever think of a princess coming to a ball with a riped dress donkeys to pull there carrige and the carrige was a pumpkin.c)Cinderella realates to the paper bag princess because both of the princesses have torn dresses and the dragon in paper bag princess is kindof like cinderella’s stepmother and sister.

    HEEEEEELLOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    CAN NOT WAIT UN’TILL TOMORROW

    A) OK some things that are the same from other storys are like sleeping beauty because they are both princesses. Another thing is like that Cinderella’s mother is like the bad guy and same as the evil witch in the famous story snow beauty and the, and other srories.

    B) WOW WOW WOW There are so many stereotypes in this “Cinderells” story there is like umm Princess pretty and nice, Witch evil and jealous. there are like so many that i can’t even name them all another one is like Step mom mean and roud, Step twin sisters jealous ugly BIG BUTS :p lol.

    C) Well how this “Cinderella” story relate’s to “Paper Bag Princaess” is like how they both are princesses and how they are both sad in the story and then some thing goood happen’s like how Cinderella goes to the ball and how Elizabith goes and finds her prince but at the same time some thing bad happens to them again how Cinderella has to leave the ball and how the prince doesn’t want to go, with the princess.

    So Yeah That’s It.

    I can’t WAIT ’till TOMORROW :p

    BYEBYE

    Love,

Some of the same story symbols in these fairytale stories are the prince charming to go to the ball with, the horses pulling the carriage, the fairy godmother grating Cinderella’s wishes, the beautiful glass slipper, the man driving the carriage, and a beautiful, sparkiling dress with acessories. The same plot when a girl starts with an evil stepmother used , she starts out with a “horrible life” where shes trapped in a house being used as a “slave” and not being able to go to balls, have fun, ect. Then she gets a wish come true, falls in love with prince charming, her stepmother wants this not for her. Then in the end she rides into the sunset with her true love and gets the glass slipper to fit.Why a glass slipper why not a converse, it’s just not that realistic. There are lots of stereotypes in this, you won’t ride off into the sunset with a prince anytime soon, or have a fairy
godmother grat your wishes and all that… girls don’t always wear sparkiling dresses and go waltz at the ball. this does relate to paperbag princess because she starts out basically with bad clthing and looking bad (A paperbag princess). Love Peace, bye. Ps MY BIRTHDAY IS IN 3 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the same symbols or things that were there like in other storys are… a princess as the main character and a prince. When they write the story it always starts with ONCE UPON A TIME!!! You also see a stereotype of the princess finding a prince and getting married and living happy ever after. Some of them even have a bad guy or villian, like in cinderella has her evil step mom and evil step sisters and snow white she has the evil queen wich is her step mom. Another stereotype is that the main character is mosty a girl. Another thing is that sometimes it ends with THE END or HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the same story characters are Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. They’re all the same because their wicked mothers try to keep them from their love. Another story that relates to Cinderella is a Happy Never Ending because the mother doesn’t want her step daughter to meet the prince so the step mother, gives the daughter alot of chores to finish so she can’t go to the ball.

The step mother was biased to her step daughter because she thought that her daughters were better than Cinderella, and deserved to marry the prince instead of her.

The Paper Bag Princess relates to Cinderella, because both of the girls loved a prince. And they both want to get married. But in the Paper Bag Princess, she saves the prince but after she saved him the prince saw what she was wearing and said I don’t want to marry a girl in a paper bag.

Well the plot most of the time is a princess getting rescued by a prince, and there is always someone evil. There will always be a main character who is good and an evil person and sometimes someone working with the evil person who just wants to mess stuff up. Some stereotypes for the good guys would be that they are obviously good and they try to beat the evil, a stereotype for the bad guy is that they are greedy and they have a grudge against the good guy. The Paper Bag Princess almost doesn’t relate to Cinderella except that they are both princesses. I think that the Paper Bag Princess is the total opposite of Cinderella because I find that the Paper Bag Princess is more clever than Cinderella because she tricks a dragon and Cinderella doesn’t even try to think of away to escape her evil step mother. Another way they do relate is that in both stories there is both a prince and a princess. Except that in Cinderella the prince rescues the princess and in the Paper Bag Princess the princess rescues the prince. That is what I think of fairy tales.

    a) alot of the disney movies have similar characters and plots like they all usally have happy endings, there is always an evil villin.
    b) a stereo type that is usually represented is the main character usually goes through a hardship and then at then end of the movies comes out on top.
    c) the paper bag princess relates to cinderella because both have a hard time and are treated wrong but at the end the both have something good happen.

Hey guys check out my blog (just got it working) http//anuj532.edublogs.org

A)Some similarities between Cinderella and some other “classics” are most classics have princess and their’s
    usually a fairy.

B)Some stereotypes in this story are that the person who
saves and who’s evil to her are feminine

C)Some similarities between the paper bag princess and Cinderella are that these story’s have both a princess and a prince.

a)Something that is the same from every fairytale is that there is a girl that is not very wealthy. There is always an enimie. Also there is always a male that falls in love with the gir. But in each fairytale there is someone to help the girl. Like animals or a people.

    b) There is a big stereotype in each fairytale. It is that the girl/princess will ALWAYS wear a dress after becoming all PRETTY! Also there is also a witch that tries to wreck everything. That is all I could for stereotypes.

c)The Paper Bag Pricess is very much like Cinderella because they are both pricesses. They both have really bad dresses. There is bad and good things that happened to these two princesses. Also each of them are wanting to have the person of there lives. That is what I know is the same about these two stories.

Well tomorrow is going to be exhilarating because the duffel bag theater is coming tomorrow but for now i will have to wait. a) Well all i know from the fairytale are always little animals with the princess and well this is similar to snow white because instead of dwarfs they have these little mice. b)well it shows certain colors like pink, very light blue and shining white. I think they are trying to send a message by showing these bright colors. c)Well for a first they are both princesses but in my perspective they are very different. Like how people try to make princesses have big puffed up dresses in books but the paper bag princess has a paper bag. i think princesses practice so much on there looks that they dont try to gain more knowledge but the paper bag princess out smarted a dragon. Now i can go on and on but……. i am tired soooooooooo bye!

a)I think that the symboles of this video(Cinderella)is a glass slipper, carriage, horses, sparkly dress and magic wand.
b)they present evil ones as always to stop something good from happening to someone.
c)they both try to find thier true love

    a) What are some of the same story symbols, plots, characters that are present in many of these “classic” tales?

Characters that are present in many of these classic tales are witches or evil step mothers, a handsome prince to the rescue and a beautiful girl that marries the prince. The plot is always to get rid of the princess in the story.

    b) What biases, stereotypes do they present to us the reader?

The sterotypes that they present to me as a reader is that all stepmothers are evil when I know that in real life that stepmothers are not evil and not out to get rid of you.

    c) How does the Paper Bag Princess relate to Cinderella?

Both the Paper Bag princess and Cinderella got rescued by a prince and they lived happily ever after.

    a) Most of these fairytales have an evil witch (usually the stepmother), a fairy godmother, and a prince that defeats the evil witch and rescues the girl and in some of them he kisses the girl awake (yuck!).
    b) The biases are the stepmothers are always evil, the girls are always pretty and get a dress from the fairy godmother. The girls are shown to be weak and they need to be saved by the heroic prince.
The Paper Bag Princess is different from Cinderella because Elisabeth has to save Prince Ronald from the dragon, while in Cinderella, the prince saved Cinderella. The heroic person is Elisabeth because Ronald is a wuss. In Cinderella, the prince was very nice to Cinderella but, Ronald made fun of the clothes that Elisabeth was wearing which was not nice. In the classic fairytales, the girl always wear pretty dresses but, Elisabeth was wearing a dirty, dusty, old paper bag. The Paper Bag Princess is telling us that everyone is equal and girls don’t need some guy to come and save them, they can be tough on their own. And it is okay for guys to ask for help…..like in the movie How to train a dragon, the girls were just as tough as the boys and they help save each other.

Cinderella is simaler to many fairytales because there is usally a Prince and a Princess as the main charaters. Cinderlla is also simaler to many other fairytales because there is usaully bad guy and in this story it is her Stepmom and her Stepsisters. Then someone usually comes to saves the day which is the Prince. Cinderella is simaler to the Paper Bag Princess because there is also bad guy which is Mr.Dragon but the Princess ends up saving the day. It is also a story of a Princess and a Prince.

    a) Some story symbols, plots and characters are similar in many of these classic tales. They are similar to other classic tales such as Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. The characters are the same because in both Cinderella and all the other fairy tales they all have a person being captured, a person who is trying to rescue the person being captured, an evil person and somebody who can do magic. Another thing that’s the same is the beginning because at the beginning of most fairy tales, it says ‘Once Upon A Time’. Also, all the fairy tales have happy endings. Cinderella is the same as other fairy tales because all fairy tales have love in them. There are a lot of similarities between Cinderella and other fairy tales.

    b) The biases and stereotypes that it presents to its reader is that the girls are shown to be weak and they need a big, strong prince to rescue them.

    c) The Paper Bag Princess relates to Cinderella because in both stories, there is a person being captured, a person being rescued and an evil thing. In both, they both try to find their true love. In the Paper Bag Princess, the prince gets rescued and isn’t grateful, but in Cinderella, the prince and Cinderella get married and everyone is happy in the end.

Some of the similar story symbols, plots and characters that are presented in these fairy tales are princesses, Princes, long gowns, crowns and animals.
In this case, Cinderella wears a long gown when she goes to the ball, princes and princesses are always wearing crowns and Cinderella’s friends are animals like mice, rabbits,…
Some of the biases\ stereotypes that are found in fairy tales are the princesses get married with the princes, happily ever afters,… At the end of Cinderella, she gets married with Prince Charming and in most fairy tales that I have read, there is normaly a happily ever after.
The Paper Bag Princess relates to this story- Cinderella- because there’s a prince and a princess that love each other so much, they both have bad, messed up dresses during the story and they both want the person that they love.

    Hi Tyler,

I’m really sorry but I can’t agree with you when you say that the girls are shown to be weak and they need a prince to rescue them. YES there’s always a prince in the story but doesn’t mean the girl is weak. From my point of view, they fall in love for each other and that’s why they always end together and also there’s always a happy end as well. Can you see my point of view? Maybe not as boys are afraid or I can say weak to show their feeling. 🙂

    (A) Some of the same story symbols are that they all have a prince, princess and an evil person. The plot, some tragedy happens at the biggining, at the end some thing good happens and every one is happy.

    (B) They always have hard ship and some one very mean in there lives.

    (C) They always have the perfect end.
