1. What is the main idea of the video, in your opinion. Your opinion paragraph must be backed up with evidence from what you viewed.
2. Character: Is there a character that you identified with. Explain who and why (relate your favourite character to someone in your life)
3. Critical Thinking: What stereotypes or biases are shown in this video. They could be used in the characters characteristics, or in the story line.

September 22, 2010 at 6:12 pm (14 years ago)We can say that everyone or almost everyone has a hero. In this tory Iggy has a hero too-manly the explorer-and he fantasies,expects so much from him but at the end it turns that his hero has nothing to do with what he thought. While watching the video we can see that Iggys expectations are wrong. They go in an adventure together but as the time goes y Iggy realizes that his hero is scared and not really connected to the nature; but Iggys doesn’t give up, he still hopes that that he will turn into a good explorer (which doesn’t happen) Iggy’s friend tries to tell him that his “hero” is not what he thinks but he Iggy doesn’t see it. At the end Iggy and his friend are the ones that we can call the true exlplorers.
When I look at Giggers I think of me, in other words I identify myseld with him. Giggers treis to help Iggy and I do the samething when i see my friends in trouble.
All explorers have to be connected to nature and not sacred of it. I this video, Manly the explorer was the opposite, he was scared of nature and affraid of adventure.

September 22, 2010 at 7:01 pm (14 years ago)Iggy has a hero like all of us, but he would always look up to him but turns out he really did’nt do all of those cool stuff he actually isn’t part of nature. he hopes very much that he becomes a true explorer witch does’nt happen and his friend s would try to tell Iggy that hes not what you think he is but iggy wouldn’t understand. but i think that iggy and his friends are the real true explorers.

Iggy had the idea that his explorer hero was brave and heroic and loved nature but, when he met him Jiggers, his friend pointed out that he wasn’t so heroic. Manly was scared when he got stuck in the hippos mouth, he didn’t know what to do when they were heading to a volcano and he didn’t care about nature and exploring, he was more concerned about selling products and getting good pictures.
Jiggers was my favourite character because he’s creative. When Iggy and Manly were falling from the glider, Jiggers made a sling shot with this suspenders to save them. And he took wood from a shop to make a ramp back all the way to the beach for the flamingos. Jiggers reminds me of my dad because, my dad took a pile of wood and made it into a cool deck with a gazebo.
One stereotype in this video is that beavers are good at working with wood.

September 22, 2010 at 8:05 pm (14 years ago)In this story Iggy, the main character has a hero, the explorer and he thinks that th hero is perfect and is too sidetraked too see that the hero is fearful and isn,t brave enough…and Iggy’s friend trys to point this out to him,but Iggy doesn’t see it. So, each time Iggy tags along with the explorer,then they usually get in a situation and the explorer doesn’t know what to do and then Giggers comes along and saves the day. At the end the truth is that the true explorers are Iggy and his friend. Another thing is you notice in the story is that really because of the spotlight the explorer became cocky and didn’t care about what he was doing.An example of that is when the bee’s came to take the magazine pictures he said don’t take a picture of this and he always wanted to look the best. But, Iggy still believed in him. I think I can relate to Giggers because Im always the one thats just there…….and i can tell you whats the right thing to do or be there to save you. 8) Bye everyone……. Peace out!8)

September 22, 2010 at 8:11 pm (14 years ago)1) I think the main idea of this video is that you maybe famous and/or very popular that doesn’t mean that you’re only special! That means that everybody has their own specialties! So if one person is good at math and somebody else isn’t that doesn’t mean that they don’t have specialties! Like in the cartoon Iggy thought of so many different ideas but the professor didn’t think of many ideas but that doesn’t mean that he’s not special! That is why I think that is your famous and/or popular that doesn’t mean that you’re only special!
1. B) Also I think that the main idea is that nobody’s perfect! Like when Iggy’s professor was not really right all the time but he’s not perfect! If somebody asks you a question and you get it wrong that is okay because not everybody will get that question right! But they never gave up they saved each other! Everybody will do stuff right and feel bad about it and everybody makes mistakes so that’s what I mean that nobody’s perfect! That is why I think that the main idea is also that nobody’s perfect!
2) The stereotype of Iggy is a “hero” to his friends but he is also a great explorer! The adventures that Iggy and his friends went through were awesome adventures and also he kind of a hero because he helped his friend and professor! That is why I think that Iggy is a “hero” and an explorer!
3) I think I liked the professor the best because he is entertaining and he taught me that you maybe popular but you can’t do and get everything that is because that they did something good or can do something good that doesn’t mean anything else!

September 22, 2010 at 8:23 pm (14 years ago)1.The main idea is about iggy having this hero, and he is getting everything that he is supposed to get right wrong. for ex.he went on a hippo and didn’t know it was a hippo and then he fell off it,the hippo putt him in his mouth,he didn’t know how to hang lide and then they fell.
2. iggy is like my little broter Michael he is 4 and he is very andventours he likes to play the wii the
x-box, he also likes playing outside like iggy.
3. One of the stereotypes is that your hero or someone that is important to you has to be the same gender as you.

September 22, 2010 at 8:57 pm (14 years ago)I think the main idea of the cartoon is that if you have a hero make sure you choose the right one, because in the cartoon the pig had a hero that was actually not as cool as the pig thought he was. He kept on messing up all the time. Like when he got bitten by the hippo and when he almost flew the glider into the volcano.
The character in the cartoon I relate mostly with is Iggy because like him I would like to meet one of my heros in real life.

September 22, 2010 at 9:10 pm (14 years ago)A little boy invited his hero on an adventure so he could get in the magazine.The little boy found out that he was an actor and he couldent do everything that he thaught he could do.I think this because he got eaten by a hippo and couldent fly a hang glider and I think these are things that an real adventurer would know about. He was always using his cell phone which a real adventurer probably wouldn’t do.
My favourite character is manly the explorer because he reminds me of my dad except my dad would know what to do in the outdoors.
I think the stereotype is that famous people who are heros to some people are fake and can’t do all the things that we think they can.

September 22, 2010 at 9:13 pm (14 years ago)1) The main idea is that Iggy thought that his hero was heroic but when he got to know him he wasn’t how Iggy thought he would be. The evidence is when you can see that manly boarman is not that adventurous.
2)Giggers reminda me of my grand-mother because she is always looking out for other people.
3) The stereotype would be that most people just ignore what is happening in the presence of their idols.

But Manley got caught in the fame that he forgot about what to do when he was in the wilderness. Iggy was relying on Manley instead of himself when he was doing the extreme stunts but he remembered what to do when it comes to the extreme stunts. Then instead of Iggy looking up to Manley, Manley was looking up to him.

September 22, 2010 at 10:19 pm (14 years ago)The main idea is that iggys hero is at mooseknuckle and iggy thinks that he is cool. But he is not connected to nature like iggy. Iggy guides his hero through stuff he can’t do but thinks he can. He stepped on a hippo but got in the hippo’s mouth. He was too obsessed with being famous. He almost risked their lives but Iggy saves them. The hero took the animals for granted and thought the animals were stupid and the animals hurt him.

September 23, 2010 at 9:29 pm (14 years ago)The main idea of this video is that not everyone who acts like or proclaims to be a hero, is hero. After watching or reading media we can make false assumptions of someone or something that might not really be true. By reading magazines about Manly, Iggy thought that he was brave, adventurous and heroic. When Iggy saw him in real life, Manly was none of those things. In the video, Manly, Iggy and Jiggers got in lots of troublesome situations, like when flamingo`s were chasing them or when the hippopotamus was eating Manly. In all of those times, Manly who was declared a hero, never did anything or tried to save himself. Iggy” and Jitters had to save him. So to me Manly wasn`t a hero but Iggy and Jitters were.
The character that most relates to me is Iggy. In the video Iggy, read magazines about Manly and made false assumptions. I used to watch lots of shows and read lots of books about Spider-Man. I made false assumptions about Spider-Man. I thought that Spider-Man would be invincible and he would never get tired but when I grew up I realised that Spider-Man is just a cartoon character.
One stereotype is that, it is assumed that all explorers are famous .In the video, the bee`s kept coming and taking shot`s of Manly even though he wasn`t doing anything. Another stereotype is that, Iggy thought that all explorers would be adventurous but Manly wasn`t close to that at all.

September 25, 2010 at 7:16 pm (14 years ago)this video is about iggy meatimg his hero manley. everybody wants to meet there hero but if its someone you dont know you dont know what they are really like. for example in this show iggy is exited to meet his hero but once you get more in the show you realize that manleys not as what iggy says. iggy said that manley was heroic brave and in to nature but he is actually a scared hog that is afraid of nature and trys to make money out of a big lie. iggys best friend jiggers notices this but iggy was just so inspired by manley he just wont listen. at the end instead of manley inspiering everyone else iggy teaches manley that nature is a beutiful thing and that it is great to explore. i think the main idea of the story is everybody is not as they apear to be. one of the main charecters i like is jiggers because he is creative and loves to build like me and one of my friends. a steriotype in this show is that all bees have a type of work. good night have a good life now im out!

September 26, 2010 at 4:09 pm (14 years ago)I think the main idea of the video is that people or things that are famous aren’t always what they seem. For example; in the video Manly was supposed to be some “super explorer guy” (which is like a stereo type) but, everything he did back fired at him like when was parachuting he fell and crashed and when he stood on the hippo, he got half swallowed and when they were hang gliding they almost flew into a volcano but Iggy saved the day so in reality Iggy is a better explorer than Manly.
Jiggers is kind of like my Dad because, my Dad is quiet keeps to himself and is smart. Apparently my Mom says I’m like Iggy because, I always get all excited. Even if it’s not what it looks like I make the best of it.

September 30, 2010 at 4:37 pm (14 years ago)The main idea of this story is that a lot of people have heroes.Iggy is one of them, his heroe is manly the explorer.First Iggy thought Manly was cool and he loved nature so much,but it turned out that Manly didn’t like nature at all.Iggy was not the kind of person who would give up on Manly,instead iggy wanted to help Manly find his love for nature.At the end of this story Manly realised that even if he did not have good pictures of himself on the magazine he did not care because he knew that nature was more important.
If I would be iggy then my heroe would be-Giggy because he is the one who saved iggy from falling into the volcano.Giggers also saved the whole little town by eating wood and then making a passway so the flamingoes won’t ruin the town.So yes that means my favourite character is Giggers.
The sterotype rule in this story is that usually it is said or written that all explorars should like nature and are very kind and are never bored.But Giggers is the opposite because he hates nature,isn’t kind too insects,and sometimes is lazy.
