June 11, 2011 at 9:56 am (13 years ago)What I am going to talk about is Why do we have to be taught French we Canadina why do we have to be taught French I do not want to be taught French can all the school be taught some thing as like maybe I don’t know like Albanian,Afrikaans,arabic,Italian,Irish one of thoso or some thing like that not only French all times like ever day to do French we should do new things some times too.

June 11, 2011 at 11:54 am (13 years ago)What I think the video was talking about was that if you failed at something, you should work harder at the thing you failed at, and if you get what ever you want with out doing any work you donāt try that hard and become as good as you can actually be. What I mean is that Michael Jordan got kicked of his basketball team in high school but that didnāt stop him, it just made him work harder and look at him now, he was one of the best basketball players in the world! It was the same with the Beatles, nobody liked their music at first so that made them try harder and they were one of the greatest rock bands ever! Then there was Walt Disney! He got kicked of the newspaper because his boss thought he had no imagination so he worked harder and harder and he made and produced a lot of movies and launched his own movie making company which is named after him! So what I think the video was saying was that even if you fail at something you shouldnāt feel sorry for yourself and instead you should work to make yourself better at what you failed at.

That’s my question for the day. I wish that all schools should have computers at studentās desk. We would be able to work on them without having anyone fight over which computer they are going to use. We can use for studying on a test. We can even use to do our homework… like we do now! We could make projects on them by using āMovie Makerā or āPreziā, we could make invitations or cards from āPublisherā without having to go out and buy them and we can even make our own schedules by using āWord Starterā!

Did you know the Intel-sponsored study showed 70 percent of the 2,700 European teachers surveyed would like students to have their own personal computer for schoolwork in class?
Isn’t that so cool?!?I agree with all 70% of those teachers in Europe!
One day, I just wish that all schools could have computers at every student’s desk!

Why canāt schools have more art? I ask for this because art is very inspirational! Many people hate art because theyāre not good at it. But that isnāt true everyone is good at art in their own way. What I mean by that is art is something that has your own meaning behind it!! People may say itās not the best art Iāve seen! The real thing is that they donāt get your own meaning. Many classes donāt talk about these things. Art is something that I do when I have free time. It is enjoyable! Just drawing a bunch of scribbles on a page is still art. When people have art they think of things beyond this world. They think of painting or just sketching. They will start off with a little drawing but then end up with something out of this world!!
Students should have more interest in art. We will have to do some sort of art in the future. If we have interest in it we will enjoy it. We can start doing this by making a portfolio. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art

The reason I chose this topic all you want to do is watch your show, I don’t want to know about the new toilet bowl cleaner that has rainbow colour no one wants to hear about that or those little tic-tacks. I bet I would ask 10 people what would you rather watch your show or some commercial and a great deal would say “I would rather watch a show” to me they are so annoying.

Why Old English should be taught in Ontario schools instead of French. Old English should be taught in Ontario schools because kids wonāt have hard time learning it. It is English but it was used in the old days. It is easier to understand. Also it will help you in grade 7. When you are going to learn about William Shakespeare you will need to know old English because that is what they used. So that is why Old English should be taught in Ontario schools instead of French.

Here are two perspectives on whether reading fiction books are good or bad.
Kid: Fiction books can take you places where the real world canāt such as Hogwarts from Harry Potter and Wonderland from Alice in Wonderland.
Teacher: True, but when you get back in the real world, you might fail tests because you werenāt paying attention to the lessons.
Kid: Creativity and imagination canāt be measured in tests. Only knowledge can be measured in tests.
Teacher: If you canāt measure creativity and imagination, how do I know you are learning? Just to prove that reading fiction books doesnāt teach you anything, I will ask you āwhat do fiction books teach you?ā
Kid: In the story, the moral can teach you life lessons, such as telling the truth, having good manners or helping others. All these can be learned from reading fiction books
Teacher: True, but if you are going to read something, why not read non-fiction and learn about molecules and aerodynamics instead of good manners? Then you would do so much better in school and you could get a good job that pays well and that you enjoy.
Kid: If you have lots of creativity, you could get a job as an artist, author, architect, a musician or a movie producer. All those jobs require lots and lots of creativity to do well.
Teacher: Okay then. You make some good points. I can agree that there are more advantages than disadvantages of reading fiction books.

June 12, 2011 at 4:11 pm (13 years ago)My topic is why can’t schools have all of there subjects be things that kids like to do for example more science talk and more science exparaments.That is what i would like to do in school not just for an hour but a hole day of science.Or to make it fair have a vote between five diferrent subjects that the teacher chose and which ever subject has the most hands up will be the subject the class dose for half of the day and then they have another vote for the other half of the day.

Also when we don’t do our homework our mom’s or dad’s have to leave a note in our agenda’s saying why. Why not just get it all done at school, when we have time to do it. Finally is that we need to spend time with our friends and familys. Therefor we should not have homework.

June 12, 2011 at 6:00 pm (13 years ago)A strong topic that is not dabated and talked about enough in our schools is learning about different people, religions, and cultures, since we are a free country with rights and freedoms and we are diversified and open to new ideas…why not?
Iv’e seen kids even in my own class laughing at a cultural Idian dance that was presented to us… What is so funny about that? Maybe we are confused about other peoples lifestyle and cultures that we dont understand it. Maybe they are laughing and snickering at us behind our backs. We should all be more considerate and open to things we find uncomon or odd..especially when it is important or part of anothers’ culture.
In general this can make us better people in a diversified world. We could be more calm, laid back, and less stuck up or uptight sometimes!
If we studied and listened about their lives wouldn’t we be more open to that. Maybe if we were educated enough we could and we would make things peaceful and better in our world… we would have a different take on people and life.
I have a strong opinion that this can be a great and successfull opurtunity for our children and future generation, so still I’m asking, WHY NOT?
Why not be open to knew ideas, enjoy our world, and the people in it???

Why Can’t Schools Have More Gym Classes In A Week?
Schools Act As if gym doesn’t matter!
we need to have more gym because doctors say that every single person should have at least 1 hour of physical activity every single day.
Physical Activity is something everybody in the world should have for there health and fitness.

Is it because thier distractions or is it because schools can’t assume that parents would allow thier kids to view those web sites.In my opion kids can get to these websites regardless like through phones and other computers.You have to teach and talk to your kids about why and the imporance of staying off these websites. If all the fun websites were not blocked then the students would be using the computers for playing games instead of using them as a research tool. Some of these “fun websites” might seem ok to us but we should always still make sure that an adult can verify it to make sure we are not being put in danger over the internet, so that for reason schools should be allowed to block some sites and if you want to check them out it should be done at home with your parents.

Iām going to discuss 2 video games Infamous and James Bond bloodstone. First I will be discussing The video game Infamous , Infamous is about a guy named Cole and he primarily he explores Empire city, he has electric-based powers in the game he uses these powers as offense and defence in combat and for the better or worse in dealing with the many few citizens of Empire city. Cole has many enemies like for example the Reapers they first were normal hookers, Drug dealers, and gangsters but after a period of time they got heavy duty artillery and have took over the whole city. It is Coleās job to stop them in the game Cole can throw electricity balls at his enemies or send electric shockwaveās just to throw them around; if Cole is injured he can regain health by getting electricity from different electrical objects. In the game Cole has a Karma level; Coleās karma level can range from Guardian to Champion depending if he kills innocent citizens his karma level will go down but if he kills no innocent citizens then his karma level will go up.
The last video game I will be discussing is James Bond bloodstone is all about James Bond going on a bunch of missionās, I will be only discussing the first level. In the first level you get a call from your boss saying that thereās a guy named Grecco and the members of the G-20 think that heās selling guns and that heās leading a international terrorist group of suicide bombers and itās your job to stop him so first you parachute on his boat and then kill all his guards, chase him with a speed boat, find him on a resort and chase the car that has the heavy artillery and save the day.

June 12, 2011 at 9:38 pm (13 years ago)The thing about video games are that is if you failed at beating a level you should keep doing it even if you fail like a million times and never quit keep trying.Mabey sign lanuage because you can talk to people that cant hear anything.My thought about skatebording is that it can be really fun but you get hurt a lot by doing tricks.The pros about recees is that you have fun playing with your friends and talking to them now the cons about recees is that people swear at each other and fights go on alot.The fun websites are blocked because they dont help you learn anything exept having fun.All schools should have wi-fi because you can go on the computer to search thing like if you are doing a project you can get information on it.

I think from my own experience is that we should have electronics at school and why we should not bring electronics to school. Number 1. We shouldn’t bring electronics to school because we might lose them and feel really bad, because we paid so much for it and you lost it or someone stole it. Number 2.We should bring electronics to school so if we are off school grounds and hurt our self we would have to call 911 or even your parents. Number 1.If we bring our electronics it could even break by another kid playing with it without asking you. Number 2. We should bring our electronics to school because we could show our friends all the cool things we have and all the songs we have to brag about it. Number 1. If you bring electronics to school bullies will take it from you and even they can delete your games, songs, and videos. Number 2. If you bring your electronics to school and get internet connection you can use the internet for learning. Number 1. If you bring your electronics to school you can use the internet for bad websites. Last but not least Number 2. When you bring you electronics to school you can have FUN.

June 13, 2011 at 9:15 am (13 years ago)why are non violent games like poptropica and fancy pants ect. alowwed at school. we are not getting the fredom of choice for school. we know from right and wrong so why are we always getting treated like babys. every being knows something so we can use that something to make the right coice. i mean who wants to get treated like they cant think for them self! some of us kids like these kind of stuff and all we are asking is why cant we just have a change in the schools video game system.

CONS
The first thing is that some websiteās are bad for some ages like some kids the ages 5-12 play violent games or adult games.
The second thing is when some kids look on the computer to help them for a project they can klick on a bad webs. The third thin is some kids including me play video games when they are suppose to be doing homework.
PROS
The first thing is that some webs on the computer help you on a project. For example, When I was in grade 4 and I was suppose to make a mediaeval castle used the computer to get the mini people in.
The second thing is that WordPerfect and Microsoft helps you with spelling mustaches.
The third thing is if you are at home and you are done all of your work and you have nothing to do you can ask your mom or dad if your you can play on the computer.
