December 3, 2012 at 4:39 pm (11 years ago)I chose to do cartoon b.The author’s message is not to play alot of video games and spend more time reading because if you play video games everyday and don’t read you will not be able to read here are some reasons:1 if your teachers asks you to read you won`t be able to because you don’t know how to read,2 and it is really important for your brain because it makes you smarter.

December 3, 2012 at 5:54 pm (11 years ago)The author’s massage is that you can learn unlimited things with books and that reading books is better than working on your iPhone, iPad or iPod because those reasources of learning can be harmful to your eyes. The books also provide your brain with useful information like how to ride your bike safely. Electronics don’t provide you with all the important stuff while you can choose the books that tell you information about what you like.Plus all the inforation in the internet is not true. In the cartoon the dad is reading an add in the newspaper about video games that are 50% off. Reading different kinds of books is important so that you can learn useful information.

The message that the auther is sending out is that books can make you smart if you read them and they give you ideas, why I think this? Well the image is showing a book being put into a boys head, this tells me that you should read more, how books should be in your mind and that makes me infer that it makes you smarter and have better ideas. It also says ”brain food” just beside it, that means that that it is good for your brain, so now it is ”healthy” and makes you smart and have ideas. By the right side, lower corner there is a note that says ” suppot the times colinest book drive” witch tells you should read more for good resons.

the author was tring to tell the viewers reading is imporant.First of all the cartoon boy is asking his dad why is reading imporant? The dad is reading the paper and he just saw a deal on viedo games and his son really likes viedo games
so he reply s” if you know how to read you could have known the deal for viedo games.” the author s message was things are electronic but for some things we need to know how to read.so the son goes to library to get loads of books to read.Reading is good thing to do cause from reading you get info,know deals on stuff,or for entertaniment.

The author is trying to explin that reading is important than just playing video games.First,the boy is playing video games and tell’s his dad that “why are you reading when you have lots of technology”. Dad says “if you were reading than you would know that there is a sale on video games”. Then the boy runs to the library to get books and start reading. That’s the authors message, that read more books more often even if there is tecnology all around you.

December 5, 2012 at 8:44 pm (11 years ago)For cartoon B I think what the authour was trying to say was: well most kids are intersted in games and video games and if kids knew what reading can do for you in life is amazing!I think they gave the example of video games because kids can acually realate to that sort of thing and when it showed the picture of the boy getting a bunch of books from the library after his dad was talking about how much he should read and without reading,he wouldnt of been able to read about a certain video game.

I think the author’s message is that people of all ages should spend more time reading books and that it is much better than working on your Ipad, Ipod,or cellphone because these can harm your eyes. In the cartoon the little boy is asking his dad why reading important and the dad is saying that if the kid could read then he can see the add in the newspaper.

Thats why you should read and there are many other reason forthat you should read.

February 5, 2013 at 11:39 am (11 years ago)I chose cartoon 2.I think cartoon 2 did a good job of showing the author’s message.I think the message is that learning to read is very important for all ages.First,they showed many kids like to play video games and are on electronics a lot.Then,they showed some people are starting to think that everything is electronic now.Next,the dad who is reading the newspaper says that reading is important because how will you know the price and when your favourite electronics are on sale?After,the kid thinks about it and decides the way the dad put it, it is important so he goes to the library and checks out lots of books!Also,Ithink the author did a good job attracting readers attention and making it funny.

I think the auther is trying to say reading is better then playing video games, not only will reading help you learn it can also be cheaper buying on it then any electronic. so the auther is saying reading is better then playing video games all day, or viset the library one and a while.

I think the author is trying to tell us that reading is important and that if spend way to much time on your electronics and won’t be that smart and you won’t be able to read if you don’t practise reading when your young,the author is saying that it is good to read and you should paly video games once in a while not all the time.
